Before and After Photos, Phase One- 8 Weeks

It has been a while since I have posted, but things continue to progress forward! Lots of folks have asked regarding seeing before and after photos, so I will attempt to oblige in this entry. The picture above was taken tonight.

Here is a profile picture taken from last New Year's Eve Lads show for purposes of comparison:
We spent all of last week in Arizona, which was awesome, and for the first time I ate some bonafide, actual food! I was very concerned that eating off the diet plan in any way, shape, or form was going to doom me to weight gain. So imagine my surprise when I weighed in down 5.4 pounds! That is 37.6 pounds in 8 weeks to kick off 2012. Here is a "Before" picture of my face from late summer with my best friend Brian Silva:

Here is a shot of my face taken today, with only two chins instead of three and a half...:

So something is working. I have so much more energy- played tennis with the boys every day at different courts all over Sedona all week and had an absolute blast... It is amazing how losing a little weight drastically changes one's self outlook. And I am determined to kick all of the diabetic meds. My goal for next Tuesday is to lose no less than 2.4 pounds to get me to forty pounds, overall. Basically that is the weight of a bag of pellets, seen here:
Anyhow, I am happy. And thanks, Andrew Lustig, for helping me get my head around the idea that YOU REALLY CAN HAVE IT ALL IF YOU JUST GET UP AND DO SOMETHING. I wasn't sure I believed it at the time, but now I most certainly do... Thanks, too, for all of you who provide weekly love and support. I love you- no sarcasm included. (which really burns in the back of my throat, btw...)

  1. 40lbs! That's, also, a bag of dog food... which seemed like such an impossible thing to hoist when I was in my pre-teens (and even some of the teen-teens).

Oh, and I like that I made a cameo in this post!

    Go, Nelson!!!
